Dowbuilt purchased the historic Dynamite Shed building in the heart of Ketchum Idaho's business district to become the base for our Sun Valley operations. Architect Edward LaLonde of Olson Kundig chose not to make too many modifications to the original structure and emphasized the use of natural and reclaimed materials artfully detailed to pay honor to the history of the building while accommodating modern use.

The most notable changes were to the ground floor and included the replacement of the rotting original wood flooring with a new radiant concrete floor system, and the addition of a bathroom. All of the windows were replaced and new glass details were added to the entryway and front door, which is a 950 lb solid steel door with a narrow pane of glass at the leading endge. New steel window framing was made by local structural metal company, Phred's Fabrication. A reclaimed wood stairway leads to the second floor along a wall that resembles one large chunk of exposed lumber but is actually made of many smaller stacked pieces of wood.
